spencer1984 Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 Built from Revell's snap kit. I didn't want to have another green Warthog on theshelf, so I did this one up in the game's "Tundra" camouflage. The figure is from Valkyrie Hobby, and while not exactly to scale - she's 1/24 and the Warthog is about 1/28 - it's close enough for me. A full writeup of what I did is available here, and as always any comments/criticisms are welcome!
Leo64 Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 Nice job. I picked up one of these kits off eBay, but unfortunately when I got it the windshield was missing. So I need to see if I can make one up, or I found a 3D file for sale & maybe scale it and make a vacuform piece. Steve A.
spencer1984 Posted March 23, 2023 Author Posted March 23, 2023 Thanks! Funny you say that...I bought a parts donor Warthog off eBay because mine didn't have a windshield. I had assumed I just misplaced it somewhere in the years between buying and building it, but now I wonder if it was a QC issue and Revell forgot to include it in some kits.

I'm not sure, I contacted the seller and he said he had the kit for awhile, so it could have just got misplaced. Here is a link to the 3D files of the Warthog I mentioned above. It comes in a 1/16th and 1/32nd scale, but you can adjust it to fit what scale you want or need: https://www.gambody.com/3d-models/warthog-m12b-halo They also offer a pretty nice Maser Chief figure that could be scaled to go along with the Warthog: https://www.gambody.com/3d-models/halo-master-chief A little harder to print at a larger scale, but they also have a D77 Pelican flyer: https://www.gambody.com/3d-models/d77-pelican Steve A.

It's amazing how much of a game changer 3D printing has been in this hobby. The figure I have with my Warthog was made by a digital artist and produced by Valykrie Hobby.
David G. Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 An excellent variation! The figure works well too, kind of takes it out of the Halo universe. David G.
