Leica007 Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 Was working on three kits at the same time (I don't know how you guys do it) so I didn't finish them in 2022, : AMT 60 Falcon ranchero, started in October finished January and posted in the truck forum AMT 66 Fairlane GT, started November finished January shown here. I airbrushed craft acrylics on the interior and Testor's spray lacquer on the body and cleared with Future(still have some). I lowered it about 2mm and put in a 427 instead of the 390. My focus on this kit was trying for a good paint and clean detail and it turned out pretty well. Gunze Sangyo 66 VW Karmann Ghia, started December finished January shown here. This was built for someone who used to have one, but she wanted it in yellow instead of grn/white. The kit was well made, the instructions were pretty good except for the fender panels/interior connection. Surprise, most of the interior parts were soft rubber/vinyl but CA worked on them. The other interesting feature was that the roof and windows was one piece, so had to mask inside and outside to paint the top. Used craft acrylic paints on exterior/interior and hvac tape on chrome trim. Used some beauty rings on the wheels with the stock hubcaps. Thanks for looking, questions or comments welcome. 4
stavanzer Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 Great Builds. That Yellow Ghia is particularly sharp!
espo Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 They both look great. I like the color and the finish on the Fairlane. The unusual roof on the Karmann Ghia looks far better when done than I would have thought.
happy grumpy Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 Cool builds, I dig the karmann ghia, I wish Tamiya would re issue this kit.
XYHARRY Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 Nice builds Lei. I particularly liked the 66 Fairlane GT. Those colours just work so well together. Well done. Cheers, David. ??

I really appreciate all of you looking at and taking the time to leave compliments on my builds. I've learned a lot and become a better modeler through this forum and the work you guys show here. Thank all of you! 2
Kenmojr Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 Love Kharmann Ghias. And Fairlanes are pretty darn cool as well. But there is something special about VW Kharmann Ghias. Nice builds.
BeakDoc Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 Both very nice, clean builds! The Ghia is particularly sharp.
alan barton Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 The colour on the Fairlane really pops! What a nice build. Cheers Alan
