Built as a "what if", as Cobra Convertibles were not available with Mystic paint. Wheels are finished with Alclad Chrome but a bit overdone to replicate polished aluminum.

Great job, the mandatory question, where you find the paint

Friend of mine owned a body shop, I guess he had some Mystic left over after repairing a damaged Cobra. BASF kept a pretty tight grip on this stuff cuz the same material in the paint wuz also used in the printing of U.S. money. Usually a rep from BASF or sometimes the Secret Service would supervise the the repairs and account fer the all the paint, used and unused.

Beautiful  job on the kit and of course the paint is fantastic.  I like this kit and built one using the Testors Color Shift paint which is pretty close and needless to say can be found at Hobby Lobby without the Secret Service following you home. ?

This build is super clean. The interior color combo is great and the finish on the body is truly like glass. Did you cut and polish the finish or is it straight clear coat?

Base coat/clear coat...then waxed.

Yep, there were a few Saleens made in this color as a promotion  for BASF and the introduction of the Mystic paint.  I built this a bunch of years ago and was actually contacted by one of the present owners of the car who wanted to buy the model from me.  You did I nice job on your vert!
