mk11 Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 Since Round2 has been induced to reintroduce the classic AMT 1960 F100 pickup kit (thank you Mr Goldman) it seemed to be a good time to throw in some pics and details of this whole generation of Ford trucks to help inspire some creative building. 1957 1958 1959 1960 3
chryslerjunkandstuff Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 Yeah, I'll be grabbing up a couple of these kits for sure.. 1957 F-350 wrecker 1959 F-100 And as cool as these Fords are, I really dig the Mercury M-Series versions.. I can't be the only one who's going to build one of these kits as a Mercury.. 1957 M-100 1957 M-350 1959 M-100 1959 M-100 4

Hi-Po Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 Those are some darn nice looking trucks. You just gotta love the older styling.

Here's a '59... Hopefully the other grills are a possibilty with this new tooling of the original '60. 3

I seen both the '59 and '60 model year being attributed to one of those trucks in the SAME paragraph! Lol..the internet.. I was only sure of one thing, and that is that they sure were cool lookin!

I've got some similar reference material showing the different paint and graphics options available thru the Chrysler Corporate Service Vehicle program.. Never seen any Edsel dealer service truck stuff anywhere before.. Excellent find!
Rob Hall Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 Those are really good looking old trucks..I think I've only seen maybe a half dozen '57-60 Ford pickups in my lifetime..that panel truck would be neat also (maybe a resin caster or 3D crafter will offer one).

Several years ago I picked up a resin '57 panel truck, maker forgotten.
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 (edited) I like 'em all, but I'd love to have that Canadian 4X4... Edited March 31, 2023 by Ace-Garageguy TYPO 1
espo Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 These pictures show a lot of great ideas for future builds when this kit hits the market. I was already liking the idea of this being reissued, now I'm really looking forward to it.
leafsprings Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 Very appropriate thread, surprised it didn't exist before the announcement. Base trim '58 F 250. 1

mchook Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 My Father's 60 we've been working on. We just got done putting power steering in it yesterday. 2
leafsprings Posted February 25, 2024 Posted February 25, 2024 (edited) Very close to these kits hitting the shelves now! I'm excited about the '60 kit in particular because of the possibilities of completely different build opportunities. I confident the aftermarket will kick with the '57-59 variations when they see these kits fly off the shelves. F500-F 600 variations require front fender to be enlarged. Hopefull Dan-Cip models of Romania will do extra heavy "Super Duty" version ( auto haulaway photo), in the same high quality of their '60's heavy F and N series offerings. Bainford Posted February 25, 2024 Posted February 25, 2024 Yes, I hope the aftermarket kicks in. I'd love to build a '57, and I'd love to build a panel.
thatz4u Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 inspiration for another truck kitbash, love the color 2

I used the Frontier Resin Big Job as a starting point, it does need some tweaking and massaging, but, easier than starting with a cab only. Would like to see a higher end 3d printed '57-'60 extra heavy duty in the future though. The ALF body would speed things up too for a pumper. Edited July 7, 2024 by leafsprings 2
