Zippi Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 I wasn't planning on posting this but thought what the heck. I'm building it for a friend of mine to mimic his 1:1 32 Ford Roadster he just recently finished up. I had the new release of the Revell 32 Ford Roadster that was the Stacey David version with the Duvall windshield and I needed to have the original windshield to match my Buddy's Roadster so I swapped my kit for the Monogram kit. The body has been prepped and in primer. I removed the manual transmission and installed a 350 Turbo, added the PVC line and fuel line, and the plug boots have been painted to match. Still need to do something with the alternator. I'm still looking at the paint I have for the interior and I'm thinking the lighter color will match the closest. 4
espo Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 This should be fun to watch. Nice thing is that you can check colors and other details with your buddy when needed. You mentioned using XF-57 Buff for the interior. Great color and have used it as well, if you haven't already checked Tamiya offers a XF-55 Deck Tan that is a shade lighter and a XF-78 Wood Deck Tan that is a shade darker. These can be used for slight contrast of color if needed.

Zippi Posted April 17, 2023 Author Posted April 17, 2023 The weather was in my favor today so I got some paint on the body and I got the engine completed. I'm liking how the paint turned out. 4
bluestringer Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 Looking really good Bob. Is that Tamiya Semi Gloss black? I use it a lot for chassis and interiors. It looks great on that body.

espo Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 The paint on your model at this point looks good enough that you might consider just leaving it alone. Maybe spray some spruce or any other model parts and paint them with the paint you used. Allow the paint to dry well and then polish those as you feel may be needed. That way if for some reason the polishing doesn't work out you haven't jacked up the finish on the build. Like the engine detailing. 1

I'll make up my mind over a couple cups of coffee in the morning when I head out to the garage.

Mr. Metallic Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 Dang, you could almost build his car straight out of the Revell Monogram box. You're off to a good start.

Thanks. I had a friend give me a 350 sbc and a 350 turbo transmission to go in it since that's what my Buddy has in his 1:1 32 Roadster.
Zippi Posted April 19, 2023 Author Posted April 19, 2023 Not much to report fellows. I got a little painting done and I think I have the motor mounts to my liking. 5
Calb56 Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 What's not to like? A 32 Ford roadster in black with a 350...

Zippi Posted April 20, 2023 Author Posted April 20, 2023 I tried fitting the interior tub in the body and didn't like how it fit. I then tried install the door panels on each door and the dash does not line up correctly. If you have built this kit let me see some pics of how you solved this problem.
bobthehobbyguy Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 Some pictures would help. To my knowledge I haven't heard about any issues with the interior. 1
