Mine is a really goofy one.

I found a resin kit of the Eagle 5 flying Winnebago from the movie Spaceballs.

They guy that made the models for the movie, reproduced a handfull of Eagle 5 kits for fans to buy and build. There are maybe 20 kits floating around out there and I have one.

It is a horrible kit. I doubt I will ever build it. It is clear that it was built in a way that displays just enough detail as it flies across the screen. The sides and roof are wavy, there is no interior. The bottom chassis piece will have to be modified just to fit the body. And the wings and rockets have to be modified and probably pinned to fit together right.

This is also my first resin kit. Maybe resin kits are all this horrible? I don't know.

Something went wrong there!  I couldn’t edit or add text to the two posts!

My rarest model is probably the rarest Mopar promo.. the 1966 Valiant Signet.

The ones in my stash aren't necessarily rare, but are hard to find in unbuilt condition, esp. for the price I'd paid for them:

- MPC 1972 Duster Annual

- MPC 1973 Duster Annual

- MPC 1974 Duster Annual

- MPC 1978 C-10 Annual (only issue with 2WD)

I have these three in their original boxes. The California Vette is sealed?

I would love to have one of those Warlocks sealed, had one a few years back and turned around and sold it.  ?

I recently found these two Airfix kits, both very rare. They are extremely detailed for 1/32 models, very, very nice. I will probably pass them on to another modeler, or collector, since they don't really fit my interests.

I would guess that this mold would still exist for possible future releases, if it’s currently not available. ( I don’t know a whole lot about trucks)

My assumption is based on the fact that the kit you shared is an ERTL release, so it’s really not that old.

That one is from '74, I think. Definitely the original release. Almost fifty years old. I wouldn't exactly call it a Spring chicken. I have a very nice cabover, which was Ertl's first venture into model trucks, in '73(?). Both of these have been relatively scarce, through the years, until the COE was redone, recently.

I understand, but as Round 2 has begun re-releasing old kits that were thought gone forever, (many much older than the ERTL kits of the 70s) I can see no reason why the molds might not still exist, and if so, no reason why it may not be released again.

That was my only point.

I built the Vauxhall Victor Estate kit when it came out in 1968. ?

Never fancied the Maxi.

And, wouldn't you know, I bought my COE Transtar about four years before they redid it?!?

Dean Jeffries' Mantaray. Resin repop of an old slot-car body, with correct resin wheels and tires to build a curbside. Some dimensional and proportion errors, kinda rough casting, but plenty close to start from.

I've been looking for one of these for years, finally found one. What lotsa folks don't know is that the 289 Ford, Weber-equipped engine was a gift to Jeffries from Carrol Shelby, and the underpinnings are vintage Maserati formula car.

Can't get much better pedigree than that.
