Mattilacken Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 (edited) So i where in my cabin for the Easter and a thought got stuck in my mind. The grand that I started as an off-road project years ago would need an other engine.. a viper engine and what if I could make a viper IRS rear end work.. and of for sure I need a 4x4… pulled it out of storage and started messing about.. but I settled on Skyline GTR rear axle and front differential since they where way better fit so far.. engine fits ok. And yes this one will be one low heep. And think of it more like a viper with Jeep body than the other way around.. maybe I should enter this to the CBR? Great tourer! ? I see this as a plausible concept Jeep would made back in maybe 1995? Wheels are five spook “iroc” from Pegasus which would resemble similar Jeep wheels of the time. Don’t be shy, please comment, ideas are welcome! Edited April 17, 2023 by Mattilacken 7
Steve H Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 Wait… did someone say “low”? Oh ya, this will be cool. Great idea Anton, I’ll be following. Cheers, Steve 1
iamsuperdan Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 How did I miss this one before?! Cool idea!
Rob Hall Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 Kewl...I've thought about stuffing a Hellcat engine in one of the Tamiya GCs to do a retro Trackhawk.
stitchdup Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 c'mon man, we're getting impatient over here, lol. Nice project

Dirty Gringo Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Ahh yeah seen the impala that is looking pretty wild as well build on my friend. 1
Mattilacken Posted March 12, 2024 Author Posted March 12, 2024 I have been doing som CAD work on this.. since i have cut the wheel arch back in the day for big tires i need to adress it. So I sketched this up.. Thpughts? Would be rougly 2 inches wider than stock on each side and the front arch comes upp about 2mm to drop the nose more as its in the pictures.
stitchdup Posted March 12, 2024 Posted March 12, 2024 I like it but maybe have the front fender stop at the bumper top, and pull the sides of the bumper out to meet them? it would match the back then 1

Mattilacken Posted March 12, 2024 Author Posted March 12, 2024 Made some changes to the flares and decided to more or less extend the side sil plate instead of adding a "box" sil. Bumpres are up next on this one. 2

Mattilacken Posted October 4, 2024 Author Posted October 4, 2024 Did a print of my flares and bumper. And had to test fit it to se how it look! 4
stitchdup Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 that looks ready to fight someone, very cool 1
Steve H Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 Ohhhh yaaa… that’s cool. Very sweet looking ride, my wife and I had a couple of Grand Cherokee’s. I will definitely be watching this one come together. Wondering if you can tweak the top of the front fender flares a bit to be parallel with the body line? I think it could just be sanded, and tapered down a touch at the front edge. Just a thought. Looks killer as is. A Jeep with some serious attitude, I love it. 1

I see what you mean and agree with you! As well as I need to get the rear edge of the front fenders to come inwards. Not clearly visible in these pics but they are way further out with the tire as a base line. I think it’s easier to correct those thing on the body than in the computer so I will try to fit the fenders permanently and then modify. how about the oem viper intake.. should I make some thing better looking or even take the intake from the later gen engine so I would have a taller engine?
slusher Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 Cool and killer build with that viper power plant'
iamsuperdan Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 Looks fantastic! Those flares work perfectly. The front bumper is good, but maybe seems a little flat or square. I think with a little sculpting on the wheel arches, they'll be perfect.
