Rocking Rodney Rat Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 This build is influenced and based on a Jeff Allison illustration used by the Billetproof show several years ago. The design was used on a show T-shirt: --------------- Here's the "yard sale" of parts pulled for the build. The body is the new tool Revell '32 body, frame from a pre-painted version of the AMT Phantom Vickie [sic] kit. Cammer is from the MPC Malco Gasser Mustang, with wheels and tires form a Polar Lights funny car kit. Various other components are sourced from the parts box. ---------------------- The first order of business was to strip and clean up the frame. I used the interior door panels from the Rat Roaster, covered with thin Evergreen styrene pieces. The floor pan is from the Revell '32 five window coop with the rear panel cut off. The other floor pan is from the Vickie kit. ------------------------------- I mated the back part of the Vickie floor pan to the 5 window pan like so.... -------------------------- A bit of grinding out the center section of the Vickie pan and a schmear or two of putty...... --------------------------- Firewall will be recessed, cammer will have a healthy set-back, perhaps a notch in the cowl to allow room for the blower scoop.... Thanks for looking, more to follow... -RRR 7 1

gasser59 Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Oh, this will be good. Definitely following this one. You're off to a really good start and I like everything about it so far!!
Rocking Rodney Rat Posted May 1, 2023 Author Posted May 1, 2023 I removed all of the modern style bracing and transmission mount, filled in the notches and filled in the numerous sink marks...I added the trans mount from the Revell Model A series... ----------------- I added some bracing and started mocking up the rear suspension.... More later.... -RRR 4
Rocking Rodney Rat Posted May 3, 2023 Author Posted May 3, 2023 I got the rear suspension dialed in. Coil springs from the Revel Model A series will be cut down and added in, once I figure out the ride height. Ladder bars from one of the AMT AWB cars.... -RRR 4
