satterwhite78 Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Oh yea, it's the Aquarod combo! An enjoyable styrene stroll down a different road. Thought long and hard about the Hydro dipping both Van and boat but will eventually get around to it on a other project. Used RustOleum Dark Steel Metallic on both. The boat deck was over layer with Spaz Stix Candy Gold(#15209). In regular room lighting not a bad looking silver Metallic finish but outside sunlight it POPS!. The SS candy gold is translucent to give a metallic golden honey hue. I have Chevrolet Emergency Van to which I'm leaning more to Fire/Rescue. But till then....enjoy! 6
XYHARRY Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 That's a cool combo Chuck. Your choice of colours and graphics work really well on this. Well done. Cheers, David. ??
espo Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Great looking color combination. The gold on the boat really looks good. Got to buy this for the boat alone.
leafsprings Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Excellent work! This combo is a time machine, takes me back to the 70's.
Leica007 Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 Looks great, the color has a fade effect on the van sides (which I'm still trying to achieve). I think the black guard trim strip is a great touch. Both models are clean and sharp.
ncbuckeye67 Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 I love these old 70's vans! After looking at your awesome build, I may have to finally pull the trigger and buy one.
