Didn't find this posted on site so I guess I'll star a new thread. This is a Motor Trend page on classic box art and shoulda been re-issued kits:

https://www.motortrend.com/features/classic-60s-model-car-box-art-part-2/

Several neat kits but the 66 Falcon begs a question. Article states mold was converted and yet Scalemates indicates it was re-issued around 2014. Anybody get one? i need one what with the peaked hood and sidedraft carbs.

Cheers.

Scalemates is a crowd sourced website.

It is very bad about kits and timelines.

I refer to them, but never trust them.

The issue is that somebody will post accurate info, and then the next guy comes along and changes the good info, for his (poor) understanding of the same.

Revell/Monogram, and AMT/MPC kits seem to have the most errors. Monogram kits in Revell boxes, and MPC kits in AMT boxes seem to collect the most mistakes.

It has gotten better, but I would not take anything on the site as gospel with checking someplace else first.

Regarding your specific question, I suspect that the 2014 Falcon is this kit.

Like I said before,

Getting your information from Scalemates is like getting your daily news from the National Inquirer. It MAY be correct but then again, maybe not.

But it's fun to look at all the pretty pictures. ?

Yup, Scalemates may be a good indicator in most instances but it certainly shouldn't be accepted as gospel. I was looking up a Supermarine spitifire the other day and they had a totally different manufacturer's timeline posted. Wish i had the energy to fix that.

The kit number for the 2014 edition of the 66 falcon was 5126. That certainly doesn't sound like a modern number does it? Stavanger's 69 stocker is #30142. Multiple searches turn up the original edition but nothing on a re-issue but I'll keep looking. Wouldn't mind having the 67 either.

Tanks,

It's not been reissued.

It was butchered into the race car in the late '60s or early '70s and that's what it has been ever since unfortunately.

Only way to get a stock one is the original annual kit from whichever year you choose.

My experience with ScaleMates is just like the others listed above. Info info listed there, particularly so for kits from US manufacturers, cannot be trusted unless confirmed by other verified sources.....TB

I would so love to add this series of Ford Falcon (un-butchered )to my collection.  Please, "Round Two " ? The various Nova kits have been good sellers, I think the Ford version will also do well.
