Oldmopars Posted June 2, 2023 Posted June 2, 2023 I love this, great job. I really love the Neo-Classic cars and wish there were more available kits of them. I know this isn’t exactly a Neo-Classic, but it is close enough for me. Keep up the great work.
Joe Lange Posted June 3, 2023 Author Posted June 3, 2023 OK, pushing on! Completed chassis, body to chassis fitting and bodywork. (and taillights!) 3
Tom Geiger Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 This is waaay too cool! I started playing with one of these maybe a dozen years ago. I was looking at the 60s Continental chassis. My project never went anywhere. Glad to see you doing this, I'm following!
ea0863 Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 Am I seeing a little hood bump in your near future? From the pictures, it looks like the engine and radiator are peeking up a little.
Kenmojr Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 This is going to be a very interesting build and thread. Look forward to more posts and updates....

One of the reasons I choose the '55 Chrysler 300 drivetrain and engine was because of the really cool, (and different), low profile air cleaner arrangement. I was still a bit worried about clearance, but I reworked the motor mounts and there is just enough hood clearance to keep it 'stock' and still enough clearance between the oil pan and the 'pavement' to be a practical street car. You will see in new photos that the hood has quite a curve on it. Thank you, guys, for all the comments!

I'm enjoying watching your build immensely - - - although when I build mine, I may just have to keep it to myself since I don't have anywhere near your skill set! My God man, your radiator hoses have clamps on them!
Joe Lange Posted June 9, 2023 Author Posted June 9, 2023 Finished painting the body, hood, and roof. Forgot to do a 'final fit' check on the interior/body, so.....here goes! Hooray!!!! No issues!
redscampi Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 This is outstanding work. Silk purse out of a sow's ear.
ea0863 Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 So freaking cool! I hope this one makes it to the magazine!
bisc63 Posted June 10, 2023 Posted June 10, 2023 VERY nice progress, just cool to see this brought up to a high standard.
Joe Lange Posted June 12, 2023 Author Posted June 12, 2023 OK, finally done. Please excuse the dust in several places. As soon as I brush it off it appears somewhere else! Kind of an odd length. Too long for a 'standard' 1/24-1/25 scale display case, and it looks a bit small in a 1/18 case. Hope you enjoy the pics!
ea0863 Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 Absolutely FANTASTIC! Thank you so much for posting your build. I particularly love the two tone paint job, and obviously the attention to detail.
rickcaps55 Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 Wow Wow !! the colors are perfect the car came out awesome that is beautiful.!!
Phildaupho Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 I will say it again when you post your creation Under Glass - this is Grade A Number One Primo. I love it. Very well built and so cool.

BTW; did you lower the windshield and top, or is this stock?
Joe Lange Posted June 13, 2023 Author Posted June 13, 2023 3 hours ago, ea0863 said: BTW; did you lower the windshield and top, or is this stock? Yes, about 3.5 to 4.0mm's on the bottoms of each side of the roof side panels and then the top of the windshield, (very carefully). 1
