I built this from the Tamiya kit. The wheels and tires are from a BRZ.

It came with a flat block off plate for the front bumper that had some mesh detail molded in. That was a little disappointing, especially for a Tamiya kit. I notices the chassis had a little tab that looked like an intercooler was supposed to mount to, so I grabbed a spare I had from an R34 kit, and it fit perfectly. It made me wonder why they didn't include one, it seems like they were planning on it.

I special ordered a can of Midnight Purple II, but what I got was just a really dark purple. Because it was supposed to be a color shift paint, I used a black base, which made it even darker. If you squint real hard and use your imagination, maybe you can see the purple.

Looks great, but in the photos,  it does look black.  Maybe fewer coats along with the lighter base you mentioned!

Thanks. They just sent me the wrong color. it's supposed to use a black base, I tried a white base on a spare trunk lid just to see, and it's still pretty dark. This is what it's supposed to look like.

There are two versions of this kit original and the Nismo version, which comes with the intercoler, custom exhaust, upgraded brakes, strut tower brace and sow on. ?

Ahhh, that explains the tab for the intercooler. Thanks for the info!
