Peterbilt 379 Kits?

hey guys

Does anyone know of a kit of the 379 anywhere? I can not find one anywhere online? Was one even available? If not, how come? Licensing issue or just not enough demand? I see 378's and so on just not a 379

No 379 are made in kit form., the model kit industy almost stopped doing new truck kits after the early to mid 80's, at least in the US and most likely based on sales.
There are a couple of transkits from the aftermarket for 379's with the hood and other stuff, Mo'luminum has one on his list, it's backordered now tho'.

It was huge oversight on behalf of Italeri kitting the 378 over the 379 - the more popular flagship of the Pete line for 20 years…the successor to the 359, and the most popular truck of all time on the show circuit. C’mon!

And yes, I believe that if anyone made a decent 379 kit, it would sell well. Most people don’t want to go through the hassle of converting the 378.
 
As Force said above, the only way to have one is the resin/3d print after market conversions. You could modify the 378 hood into a fairly close 379-119 short hood, but to make the more common long nose 379-127, you need an aftermarket hood and to stretch the frame and/or set the cab and sleeper back further and lower the cab and sleeper mounts.

In addition to Moluminum, you can find the 379 conversion at ST Supply and on Shapeways. I can’t vouch for either, though.

Jamie from Moluminum makes excellent stuff. Gary from GW Trucks made one that was good, but he is sadly no longer around. Also oop, but if you can find the Bill Drennen mastered 379 hood, I think that’s the best 379 conversion to date. IIRC, Jamie has those molds with plans to produce more.
