WizPorsche944 Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 (edited) I keep seeing glue from Bob Smith Industries pop up on You tube model builds. I would like to try it which is best to use the Super gold or the Maxi cure ? Edited June 12, 2023 by WizPorsche944
Bainford Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 I use BSI CA glues frequently, it's been my primary CA glue for two decades. Different builders will have different preferences. I use extra thin (blue label) almost exclusively. I have never tried Super Gold or Maxi Cure.
Rattlecan Dan Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 I and I assume many others use the gap filling insta-cure +. It's the go to glue for many. The gold is especially good for not fogging clear parts or windows. Maxi cure is extra thick. That has been my experience. Hope this helps.
jaymcminn Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 Super Gold+ is excellent stuff. It doesn't fog and has the perfect consistency for a thick CA glue. I've been using it for many years.
Shark Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 They also make great two part epoxy adhesives if the need arises.
peteski Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 (edited) BSI CA adhesives (and accelerator) are my go-to CAs for model building. I pretty much have all viscosity, and odorless too. I decide on which one to use depending on the task at hand. But I have to admit that I'm addicted to the super-thin variety (with accelerator). I want my glue joints to set fast! Some hobby shops re-brand those as their own brand (but it is still BSI). Here the accelerator was re-branded for a local shop (long since closed). Edited June 13, 2023 by peteski
