JTalmage Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 (edited) I have plans to backdate a couple Boomer Bucket kits to Little T's in different variations based on original box art photos. Here's project number 1 completed. A lot of folks in the Scale Survivors group on Facebook helped out with acquiring the specific parts. This one is painted Tamiya French Blue which looks nearly identical to old Monogram blue plastic of the Big Drag. I left the phone and mufflers off of this one, as a drag car wouldn't have those. But I left the header caps on, because I didn't want to damage the original headers. Enjoy. Edit: I brush painted almost every original Little T donor part with molotow. And look how you can see my reflection of holding my cell phone to take pics in the last photo! Edited June 12, 2023 by JTalmage Added some details 11
BIGTRUCK Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 That color combo is pretty sharp, and the wide whites pull it all together.
TooOld Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 Very very nicely done Jesse , it will look great in your collection ! You're correct that blue is nearly identical to the original Monogram plastic , If one didn't know you painted it they'd swear it was just polished plastic . Very neat and clean !
XYHARRY Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 That looks great. Well done Jesse and thanks for sharing. Cheers, David. ??
Bainford Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 Nice, clean T. I love the simple, old school vibe on this one. Very cool.
TarheelRick Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 Very pretty little bucket. Like the color. Makes me want to get some of these projects I have started finished so I can build a couple of hot rods, one being a T-bucket.
espo Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 Very clean looking build. The paint looks smooth, and the chrome trim all looks good. Remember when tuck & roll was a thing on the floors, not practical, but does look cool.
karbuildr Posted June 14, 2023 Posted June 14, 2023 Outstanding. Great "T" bucket. Smooth paint, tuck and roll, wide whites and baby moons are the best.
Zippi Posted June 14, 2023 Posted June 14, 2023 Man that is a clean little Hot Rod. Love the blue and white. Nice build.
bisc63 Posted June 14, 2023 Posted June 14, 2023 Very cool! Nice to see a clean, non-metallic/pearl paint job. Timeless.
Rattlecan Dan Posted June 14, 2023 Posted June 14, 2023 Extremely nice build. Paint and clean detailing make it a beauty. Great job! Thanks for posting.
deuces wild Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 Very cool!!!.... I have its big brother from '63.. it's on my waiting to do list...
Flatout Posted June 18, 2023 Posted June 18, 2023 That’s too cool Jesse….it’s amazing how good these old Monogram hot rod kits are, they just look so good.
Mr. Metallic Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 That's a sweet little stunner Jesse. I have an affinity for those original Monogram hot rods kits, and I'm loving your box art variations.
bill-e-boy Posted August 12, 2023 Posted August 12, 2023 What a timeless build of the quintessential Hot Rod. Love the colour combination and the clean as build. You deserve to proud of it.
