Gramps46 Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 In the 1970 Targa Florio Brian Redman and Jo Siffert drove a Porsche 908/3 to victory. It was an eight-cylinder spyder based on the 908 chassis. The model was built decades ago and was based upon the Heller 1/24 908 kit with a styrene vacuum formed body from Bill Koons at IMAGES. 2
rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 Always fun to see a 908. Great paint shade and decals.
Phildaupho Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 I like this a lot. One of my favorite racing Porsche. I remember seeing it in Road & Track after its Targa Florio win. I have seen the real car at a vintage racing event driven by Brian Redman and I had the pleasure of taking with him afterwards. He tells great stories of his racing days.
1959scudetto Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 Nice model, Gary - looks like you handpainted the numbers and the Porsche stripes !

No I can not take credit for the numbers, they are too consistant. IMAGES sent me the transkit and asked that I build it for the box cover.
Dave B Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 Nice build Gary, Heller did great kits when you consider how old they are. Tks for posting Dave B
