crazyjim Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 Here's a 1950 Ford convertible I just finished. I was going for factory stock and according to color charts, Ford offered a light grey paint in 1950. Duplicolor primer/sealer seems to be pretty close so that's what I used. 4
espo Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 Looks great and I like the original build style. As a young man I had owned a couple of these Fords, but no convertibles. A suggestion on the Hood. Seems as if you may have used the filler for the custom version that would eliminate the bump to clear the center of the factory grill causing your hood to not close.
happy grumpy Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 Great looking Ford. I built a few of these back in the day, it still holds up pretty well for an old kit. Great choice of color.
crazyjim Posted June 29, 2023 Author Posted June 29, 2023 Thank you David and Mario. You're correct about using the filler instead of the "real" hood ornament. I wasn't paying attention at the time. I actually put the hood in a baggie and froze it overnight but the filler piece wouldn't come out, so I left it.
TarheelRick Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 Good looking Ford. I am working on a full custom version.
Street Rod Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 Very well done Ford! The light gray just looks right on this car.
David G. Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 That's one sweet looking Ford, nicely done! David G.

happy grumpy Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 Great rendition of the classic ford. I like the color you chose.
