rastta Posted July 14, 2023 Posted July 14, 2023 Been doing work on our truck and some guys in my car club have come over repeatedly and helped me out. One of them is Larry who owns a 47 Ford Coupe - but it's registered as a 46 and has an odd mishmash of 46 and 47 parts. It's bagged with a 383 stroker in it. I opted for the LMC kit. Bought it from an eBay seller and while it was about 98% complete it was missing a few small parts etc. The hard part on this build was dropping the car as much as I could without messing with the floorpan due to how the model was made. Definitely tough. Went with an Impala lowrider front end grafted to the chassis. Then used an Iceman 9 inch independent 4 link rear for the back. First up was creating the chrome molding strips. I opted for evergreen strips which I glued on then shaped on the car. Cover in BMF at the end. Similar treatment to the handmade visor on front. On the rear trunk he has the special 46 moldings which have tail light covers. I used leftover molding from my Galaxie fleetline kits for that. Tires and wheels were from Modelhaus with caps I had. I also tried to duplicate the patina in the engine compartment. All in all I had a lot of fun as well as some frustrating moments making this thing, but the owner digs it and that's all that matters. I've included pics of the actual vehicle as well. 8 1

rastta Posted July 15, 2023 Author Posted July 15, 2023 Thanks for the kind words. It was probably the toughest one I've built - considering the kit and all the customization.
