I got the amt ranchero kit the other day and saw it had a front and rear roll pan so I thought to myself I’ll use it

Welcome to the forum Brock. I like the looks of these little trucks, and I happen to have one of these kits. So…I will watch!?

I’ll talk about the reason my first build on this forum is a ranchero when I’m a General Motors guy is because over in Australia my pop has a falcon ute that he still drives and my father, my little brother and I are building a sedan delivery

the difference between an Aussie one and a American one is the length the American one is longer but yeah

Like the Utes from down under. Have owned a few El Caminos thru the years. Sad, they don't build them here anymore.

I’ve got an old Holden ute that I’ve had since I was little they are a good car but underpowered compared to a lot of th American cars at the time

I’ve done the engine awaiting more spray paint to redo the body. I’ve also painted the firewall white and I have completed the interior it’s not the best interior I have done but it’ll do IMG_0210.thumb.jpeg.ff8e948f28e8abcbfa487b11e19b384b.jpegIMG_0209.thumb.jpeg.90e3f550a21e2e5e0f8d0c2c4a094eee.jpegIMG_0208.thumb.jpeg.135723b32268083aa314613273f314f1.jpeg

The 60 Ranchero is looking pretty sharp.

I really do appreciate that comment you said because your builds are really a work of art

Looking good Brock.  I can relate to your comments about the difference between a Ute and a Ranchero because I am currently converting two Rancheros - one into an XK ute and one into an XP.  There is even more to it than you think, it is not just the length!  I have had to shorten the door, shorten the roof, reshape the B pillars, reshape the rear window opening and reshape the whole rear end, top and bottom.  Still got a way to go but it is getting there!

Good luck with your project

Cheers

That seems really cool turning those rancheros to xk and Xp I was going to do that but I think it would be too much work for me
