Brockc Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 I got the amt ranchero kit the other day and saw it had a front and rear roll pan so I thought to myself I’ll use it but I am very disappointed that it doesn’t have the ranchero camper parts to make it a sedan delivery so it’ll just be a ute 3
Brockc Posted August 2, 2023 Author Posted August 2, 2023 I have started on the engine it’s very straight forward to build 2
atomicholiday Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 This kit is on my to-build list. I'll go along for the ride. 1
NOBLNG Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 Welcome to the forum Brock. I like the looks of these little trucks, and I happen to have one of these kits. So…I will watch!? 1
Brockc Posted August 2, 2023 Author Posted August 2, 2023 I’ll talk about the reason my first build on this forum is a ranchero when I’m a General Motors guy is because over in Australia my pop has a falcon ute that he still drives and my father, my little brother and I are building a sedan delivery the difference between an Aussie one and a American one is the length the American one is longer but yeah
espo Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 Like the Utes from down under. Have owned a few El Caminos thru the years. Sad, they don't build them here anymore. 1

I’ve got an old Holden ute that I’ve had since I was little they are a good car but underpowered compared to a lot of th American cars at the time
Brockc Posted August 4, 2023 Author Posted August 4, 2023 Done some work on the chassis to day and put a fuel tank from revels ancient 57 ed Roth edition
Brockc Posted August 12, 2023 Author Posted August 12, 2023 Mocked up the ride height and I’ve decided black wheels with chrome trim on them with it blue and white roof maybe some lace work 3
Brockc Posted August 28, 2023 Author Posted August 28, 2023 I’ve done the engine awaiting more spray paint to redo the body. I’ve also painted the firewall white and I have completed the interior it’s not the best interior I have done but it’ll do 2

alan barton Posted August 30, 2023 Posted August 30, 2023 Looking good Brock. I can relate to your comments about the difference between a Ute and a Ranchero because I am currently converting two Rancheros - one into an XK ute and one into an XP. There is even more to it than you think, it is not just the length! I have had to shorten the door, shorten the roof, reshape the B pillars, reshape the rear window opening and reshape the whole rear end, top and bottom. Still got a way to go but it is getting there! Good luck with your project Cheers Alan 1
