Zippi Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 I built this AMT kit a couple years ago but didn't like the outcome so it sat in the box until now. I recently bought an M2 1957 Chevy model 150 1:24 scale all steel at HL and it came with an extra engine and set of wheels & tires. This model is a little big for a 1:24 scale so I thought how about a little goofy looking pickup so that's where the AMT 55 Chevy Cameo came into play. I decided to make a distributor and wire the engine. The body has been stripped and it has been painted red enamel. It currently setting in my easy bake oven to cure the paint. I am missing the rear passengers side bumper so not sure what I'm going to do at this point. 2

This is not going to be anything worth writing home to mammy about as the engine is not that detailed. It's pretty much curbside +. Only half an engine and no chassis.
Zippi Posted August 3, 2023 Author Posted August 3, 2023 (edited) I got some Testor's paint on the body and it's been in the easy bake oven over night. Should be ready to clear tomorrow. Edited August 3, 2023 by Zippi
Zippi Posted August 6, 2023 Author Posted August 6, 2023 Well....the weather had not been good enough to shoot the clear on. I did a little mockup this morning to make sure everything still fits after painting. I still need to shoot all the trim and bumper with Molotow chrome.
Zippi Posted August 10, 2023 Author Posted August 10, 2023 After 24 hrs in the Easy Bake Oven the Tamiya X-22 clear seems pretty dry so I polished the body this morning. All the parts have been cleaned & painted and the assembly process has started. 1
