Sidney Schwartz Posted August 3, 2023 Posted August 3, 2023 (edited) This kit is the devil's own dumpster fire...pretty much what you'd expect from a Lindberg kit. The body consists of 11 pieces, none of which fit very well. I had to tear it down and rebuild it several times before I could get it sort of OK. Chassis and engine detail are almost non-existant, and the interior is not much better. You've been warned. Enjoy and thanks for looking. This will probalby be my last post here. I'm feeling that I've gone about as far as I want to with this hobby, and there are other things I want to try my hand at. Thanks to all the folks here who were so helpful and encouraging. Stef Posted August 3, 2023 Posted August 3, 2023 Oh no! Another PYRO kit lives up to its name, sets itself and builder on fire, claiming yet another hobbyist! Solid work on this dimensionally-challenged Escher kit, Sid. Quick, someone send Sid a Monogram 1941 Lincoln as a palette cleanser, STAT! We can't let you leave the hobby on one of the most objectively challenging kits ever designed. (built model not mine) 1

RichCostello Posted August 3, 2023 Posted August 3, 2023 It's the worst kit I've ever seen. I didn't even try to build it, just traded it away.
Can-Con Posted August 3, 2023 Posted August 3, 2023 So, anyone know exactly what year that Pyro kit came out? I'm thinking sometime in the early 1/2 of the '50s. Has to be one of the earliest plastic car kits ever made.
Mark Posted August 3, 2023 Posted August 3, 2023 1955. Prior to 1970, it had no plated parts, and had plastic tire/wheel assemblies. 1
Rattlecan Dan Posted August 3, 2023 Posted August 3, 2023 Sid, I've always enjoyed your contributions. Your builds and comments will be missed, if you choose to direct your talents to some other pastime or hobby. Rattlecan Dan
Richard Bartrop Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 I have one that I still haven't summoned up the nerve to build. My hat is off to you.
XYHARRY Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 So sad to hear of your departure from this hobby. Your contributions to this forum will be missed. Goodluck Sidney with your future endeavours. Cheers, David. ??
NOBLNG Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Wow, that must be a horrible kit if it’s making folks leave the hobby!? I think you should a newer Revell or Tamiya kit before quitting Sidney…it may change your mind?? If you do leave, best of luck on your future endeavours.
slusher Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Very nice looking model! Don’t let it have you leav e the hobby..
Mike 1017 Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 I have a few kits that are perfect for a dumpster fire. Mike
