I looked but couldn't find anything. What kit is the new AMT/Round 2 '34 Ford 5-window? Is it the newer one from the '90s, or the rare, older one from the '70s?

The terrible Seventies kit was a three-window coupe.  This is the newer one, apparently the rod version.

Thanks, just what I needed to know. I already have 2 of those, no need to buy another one just for the cool box.

HPI Guy builds it. Decent Kt, if you only want a a One Version Street Rod.

No Alternate parts at all. Does have really nice Edelbrock Valve Covers and Air Cleaner, however.

I actually like the tires, and depending on how they fit within the fenders I may substitute something a little narrower.

There's some false advertising on the side panel... Sez it comes with a 700r4 auto trans, but it's the same old 4-speed manual trans in the box....?

I don't see that anywhere on the box. Buddy says it says that on the instruction sheet but he doesn't show it.

I don't have that reissue of the kit so I can't confirm.

I'm sorry....? They called the 4-speed manual trans a 700r4 auto trans.... It's a misprint... My bad...?

You are correct Steve... I just double checked and he states that the misprint is in the instruction manual... I apologize again.....?

The earlier kits were nice 2 in 1 versions. For the big jump in price over the old kit with the $12.99 WM tag on it I have.....should be a 2 in 1 kit.

The transmission may not even be a 4 speed. Looks as if there are only two shift leavers on the side of the transmission looking like a 3 speed. Would need a third shift leaver to engage reverse. Did anyone notice a clutch pedal?

Only the RC2 Nostalgia Series issue was a two in one.

No need to apologies to me Guido. I'm just sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner. I'm in Eastern Canada, "Atlantic Time Zone" so I'm one hour earlier then the east coast of the U.S. It was almost midnight here and I had to hit the bed. ?

I just checked my 2in1 kit and there is a separate brake/clutch pedal piece, but strangely, no gas pedal. 

The "hot rod" parts in it are exactly the same as the new release.

Inside, the kit engine seems to have that same manual trans.

Very true Robert, but it dosen't say it on the new box. 

I only have the 2 in 1 issue myself. They all seem to have the same engine/tranny assembly. 

All the chassis and engine seems to have come directly from this kit,,

Yep, that's the original. It was widely panned because the body was too boxy (resembling an oversized British Model Y). A few years later, they created the new five window coupe body mastered off the real one in John Mueller's garage. 

Here's John's finished project. Obviously he chopped the top after they measured it.

Has anyone "backdated" this kit? Sure, I know the body proportions aren't 100 percent there, but it might be fun to toss it on the chassis for the 34 Ford Pickup and see what you could do with it for a slump-breaker. Maybe even make a Fauxvivor of the "East Coast" style rod you could build from the original Aurora 34 Ford

I have a stock (Well Mostly Stock) build in progress now.

It uses this kit.

Which also offers a Stock Tudor Sedan

So far I like it, and I find no fault with the body. 

My guess is, that if Round2 were to laser scan the body of a 33/34 Tudor, and mold it, you would have real problems telling the two (new & old) apart.  But, there aren't that many stock Tudor's out there, and most street rods have had some massaging done to the bodys for better fit, and to "Look Better".

But, I could be wrong.

No need to backdate it, just find the original stock version or the 2n1 RC2 did about 15 years ago. The 2n1 was poorly marketed since it simply recycled the 90's street rod box art with no indication that the stock parts were in the box other than a little 2n1 logo on the box top. Most people passed that issue by when it was released, assuming it was the street rod only kit. The stock version actually includes some nice hop up parts for the flathead too.

As far as throwing the 34 coupe body/fenders on the AMT 34 pickup frame, you'd be setting yourself up for a lot of work. The 34 pickup frame shares characteristics with the 32 passenger car frames and the profile is quite different to the 33/34 passenger car frame. I think the wheelbase is probably different as well.

Welll,,,I could tell and I'm sure a bunch of other people on here could too. 

Compared to the kit body, the roof of the actual car has much more curve to the top of it over all the windows. not as blocky, much more graceful.
