I had some made up ones from various hobby sources from places like Gofer. The body is 1/8" aluminum tube, the piece that goes into the engine is 1/16" aluminum tube. Well, the smaller tube has no support and I have found them bent in the packaging. I tried to fix one up yesterday, no good.

Since I have tubing and a ton of wire-wrap wire, I gave it a go. Some here may know that aluminum tubing fits inside the next size up tubing. My solution was to use a short piece of 3/32" tube between the 2 sizes for support. Only a ring 1/16" tall was required.

The body I increased from 1/8" high to between 9/64" to 5/32" so I could get enough CA glue to hold everything together. I can take pix of the next one I do if there is interest.

I made a similar one using 1/16” brass tube and a piece of 1/8” o.d. x .100” long styrene tube. The wire is .020” diameter and I don’t recall if I reamed the styrene tube or not.

Mine are similar, only with a little ring between the 1/16" and 1/8" pieces. All telescoping aluminum tube. I made 2 to bring to a club meeting last week and gave them away.

Like this one from Gofer. The last ones I got were literally breaking in the package.

VERY flimsy.
