Started with a MPC promo from eBay, I added the vinyl top, side trim, transparent signal lights with acrylic sheet and some chrome details. Also casted the side mirrors from a 1/24 Greenlight Monaco cop car diecast.

I’ve always liked this body style and green is my favorite color. This looks absolutely beautiful. You really got all the details perfectly!

Very impressive work. The rear shot almost passes for the 1:1 and the canopy top works well with this body style. The side mirrors, rub strips on the bumpers and the whitewalls add greatly to the overall appearance.

All your additions make this really nice. The color is perfect. I never realized how similar the tail light shape is to late '70s Monte Carlos.

Otta this World! Looks Fantastic!

I'm also SMH.....I just finished a 77 Monaco 2dr that I picked up last year( in glue bomb mode), painted the body but had not decided what to do afterwards.

Not satisfied with the original interior tub ( all came with a 60/40 or regular bench seat) I used a Joker Goon car Interior tub for a donor. Then I saw yours and decided a few more factory options needed to be added before I post it.

Definitely does not look like it rolled out of a Promo box but off a dealership lot...brand new in 1977!

Got to thinking since I had one on the shelf....1692568781080857237790550795339.thumb.jpg.55cf9998d2bdc062716e36449d9abb77.jpg

Thank you! Yes I really like these promo cars from the 70s but side mirrors were not common to be included until kits from the 80s. I'm so glad I was able to cast the mirrors from Greenlight's 1/24 Monaco cop car. 84101__69944.png.5a478778e214905637e0315be0a1d03f.png

Wow, what a huge difference between the original promo and your rebuild. Completely changed the character of the car. Very nice.

Thank you! It was really some small areas of change but I think it's essential to make it look closer to an actual vehicle from the 70s. The bumper rubber was simply a vinyl tape strip, and I foiled a styrene strip and added a super think vinyl tape stripe to mimic the side trim.

Those small areas of change made all the difference. Excellent tips about the side trim and rubber bumper.

Very nice indeed. I like the vinyl top. I picked up one of these promos from eBay recently as well. I have no idea if it’s rare or not, or what to do with it. Your beautiful build has given me inspiration.
