spencer1984 Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 (edited) First seen in Toy Story, then making a cameo of one form or another in Pixar movies since, the Pizza Planet delivery truck has been on my "to do" list for a while. I started with Revell's "Rumble Rider" Toyota, mostly because I found the remains of one at a yard sale for less than a buck. Some body work, some lighting, a few part swaps and a ton of scratchbuilding later, I got this: Revell modeled the LWB truck, so I started by shortening the box and frame, then adding the appropriate damage. Also, the interior was molded with bucket seats, so I cut those out and replaced them with a scratch build bench seat made from paper towel and masking tape layered over a styrene "frame." The steering wheel was modified from an AMT 280Z, and I piled in a bunch junk to match its look from the movies. More junk was added to the back, a combination of kitbashing, aftermarket, and scratch building: Aside from a bit of weathering and the battery caps, the engine was left as I recieved it. The chassis was likewise weathered: The graphics, including bumper stickers and rear plate, were my own prints: For an antnna topper I used the Pixar ball: And just for the heck of it, I put an LED in the roof topper so that it could light up as seen on screen: Finally, a shot of it with my other 1/24 Pixar models: A full writeup of what was done is available here, and as always any comments/criticisms are welcome! TonyK Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 Lots of work to create an obscure model. Looks great!

Goose1957 Posted August 29, 2023 Posted August 29, 2023 Very, very nice. Movie cars and trucks are cool, so much better when there's not a real veichle or kit to use. Great job on that. Jeff
Mr. Metallic Posted August 29, 2023 Posted August 29, 2023 That's freaking RAD! You made me smile with all the movie specific details. Great realistic weathering too.
vincen47 Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Wow, incredible accuracy in reproducing it in scale model form. I’ve always had such an appreciation for your skill and dedication in creating scale models of vehicles from television and film. 1
Bainford Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 This is seriously cool. I am amazed with all of the details. The more I looked, the more I saw. It's all there. Very impressive work. 1
spencer1984 Posted September 5, 2023 Author Posted September 5, 2023 Thanks, guys! I don't usually build many with this much "stuff" in them, it was a fun change of pace.
KWT Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Very nicely done Bill. Definitely looks the part!
