Mothersworry Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 Barris Bathtub Buggy built from an original kit circa 1969. 3
Yeah Nah Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 Amazing build! No-one could ever accuse Barris of lacking imagination!
athlon Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 That is one of the coolest builds I've seen in a long time, would love to see that reissued, great work
Bainford Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Very cool. Those old decals seem to have held up well. Nice work getting them on well.
Mike C Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Those crazy customs were cool. I saw that in person at the NY Rod & Custom show when I was a kid.
Chuckyg1 Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 I've never seen one of these put together. Yours looks awesome. Those decals must have been a joy to work with.
Mike C. Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 That Gorge Barris did some crazy stuff back them.
Lobo2me Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 A fitting car for Marilyn Munster to go with Herman's Koach and Uncle Festor's Dragula. Very well done!
Oldriginal86 Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 I couldn’t bring myself to purchase this kit when it was originally out. Thought it was ridiculous. After seeing this build, I wish there was one in my stash for nostalgia’s sake. Well executed build!
peteski Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Yes, very well built model! I don't have it handy to check, but I'm sure it was not the original release.

According to https://www.scalemates.com/kits/monogram-85-6744-bathtub-buggy-george-barris-saturday-night-mare-show-rod--959332 that kit was reissued in 2009 (earlier than I recalled), but still more recent than 1969. While that website is not always accurate, that entry seems on target. You might be able to find the 2009 release on eBay, or some other site where out of production models are sold. Will likely be less expensive than the first release. Edited September 8, 2023 by peteski Fixed wrong date

Will likely be less expensive than the first release. Nice Peter, thank you for the info
