1970 Monte Carlo SS (AMT)

Started this one just after i finished the super stoker monte Carlo, this kit surprised me for the better, really nice details, all separate parts (frame, floor pan, lots of engine details) and fir isn't too bad too.

started with the frame and interior now that's its done i''l move on to the body, which will be painted MCW enamel metallic citrus green

I agree, the way this kit goes together it offers many areas to add additional detailing.

body has been primed and wet sanded with 2000 grit sand paper, ready for base coat

Well things didn't go very well with the base coat, shot several coats of mcw enamel but i think i didn't thin it enough and had to low air pressure.

it splattered and spider webbed, so once dry i wet sanded it again to get everything flat and ill try to do few more coats of paint

I'm pretty much done, as usual for me I never cant seem to get a very good finish, but I'm too lazy to strip and repaint.

it looks ok when its in the display cabinet ?

I should had work on the stance, it came out a little too high, especially at the front.

That is not a bad finish.  Keeep on trying to get what you really what you really expect try some Tamiya paint.

Nice build. I like this kit as well. I have built one slot car body, one replica of my Dad's Monte and just bought another on to use as a donor for my recently acquired 1969 Grand Prix.
