So you’re stuck on a desert island, you all know the rest.

List out your top five favorite albums of all time.  Here’s my list in no particular order.  And if you feel like it, tell us why you picked what you picked.

-Outfield - Play Deep

-Ozzy Osbourne - Ultimate Sin (Jake E Lee is my favorite guitarist and he was on top of his game for this album)

-Gary Numan - Telekon

-Fastway - Trick or Treat motion picture soundtrack.(one of my top five movies.  I saw a lot of myself in Eddie Weinbauer)

-Great White - Once Bitten (Mark Kendall, another terrific guitarist)

Albums I could listen to forever and never tire of?

Cake..... Fashion Nugget. This album kinda shaped my way of thinking when I was younger.

Primus..... Pork Soda. This one is about lonerism and isolation, something I've dealt with a lot, especially as a teen.

Meat Puppets..... II. Just an all around good album!

Hum..... You'd prefer an astronaut. It's a concept album about him and his girl's stellar love affair.

Tool..... Lateralus. This album came out right when I needed it in my life......

Nothing at all wrong with any of those!   They're some truly great classic albums in that list.   Heck,  Pink Floyd is one of my favorite bands.   I tend to lean towards Animals.

Some great stuff posted by everyone!   Let's keep it going and maybe some of us will discover a new favorite album from other members.

Hmm.  Hard to narrow to 5.   50 would be easier.

Pink Floyd-- The Division Bell

U2--The Joshua Tree

U2--Achtung Baby

Roxy Music--Flesh + Blood

Roxy Music--Avalon

and bonus:  Peter Gabriel--So

Well, Warren Zevon died 20 years ago today, so two of mine would have to be Learning to Flinch and I'll Sleep When I'm Dead.

Linda Ronstadt's Mad Love would make my list today, too.

Bowie's The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars

Now for my last I gotta pick the best of Tom Petty, Heart, or Meat Loaf. Ouch.

Yes, Animals is in a league of its own. Personally, as much music is out there, I tend to gravitate to the stuff I listened to as a young'n.  My 45 year old son is always trying to get me to listen to bands like Tool and Metallica but there's no memories in it for me. I discovered a few things when I was collecting vinyl that I really like and have those on CD. These days I don't listen much to music. I do like to watch live performance videos of various bands when im in a "mood"......."Pulse" is a favorite. ?

The Real Thing was an insanely good album!  So creative and unique for its time.  And Master of Puppets?  I heard it for the first time when I was sixteen.  It was a new album at that time.  It was almost a life changing experience for me back then.  Wish they were still putting out music like that one.?

Metallica has released some music recently, it's just as good if not better than their earlier stuff...... Very heavy, but very technical playing all in one!
