The full size and AMT kit are a firm favourite with me.

Main gripe with the model is when you trim the hood to fit snugly the silver trim strip doesn't line up. Aagh! I chose the least obvious of the evils and propped up the hood with a couple of spacers glued to the inside rear so the trim strip lines up with the rest of the body.

Thanks for looking!

I probably have 3 built and 10 other AMT kits around. They are really nice to build. I found a guy at the NNL East that sells vacuum-formed blank floor pans for this car. They may fit the AMT '36, have yet to try it.

The beauty of the Trophy Series kits is that any engine mounts up the same. I have swapped the hemi from the '53 Ford F100 and the chrome 390 from the '34 Ford truck into the '40 Ford.

Yep. I'm using the blown Buick engine from this kit in a 34 Ford truck.

I agree with the '40 being one of the better Ford designs from the past. The classic black paint with the red wheels and interior appointments looks great.

Thanks everyone for looking in and taking the time for posting kind comments.

I have another example in the stash - the Original Art issue from a while back that will definitely be getting the gasser treatment!
