Yeah Nah Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 The full size and AMT kit are a firm favourite with me. Main gripe with the model is when you trim the hood to fit snugly the silver trim strip doesn't line up. Aagh! I chose the least obvious of the evils and propped up the hood with a couple of spacers glued to the inside rear so the trim strip lines up with the rest of the body. Thanks for looking! 9
Zippi Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 Really nice looking. I love the old fat fender Firds. 1
Jim B Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 Great looking Ford. Nice to one that isn't all rodded out. 1
happy grumpy Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Great build. I just love those fat fenders stock. 1
ncbuckeye67 Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Very nice! I've always loved the 40 Ford. 1
XYHARRY Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Nice 40 Ford there Garry, I like the open quarter windows. Well done. Cheers, David. ?? 1
bobss396 Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 I probably have 3 built and 10 other AMT kits around. They are really nice to build. I found a guy at the NNL East that sells vacuum-formed blank floor pans for this car. They may fit the AMT '36, have yet to try it. The beauty of the Trophy Series kits is that any engine mounts up the same. I have swapped the hemi from the '53 Ford F100 and the chrome 390 from the '34 Ford truck into the '40 Ford. 1

I'm using the blown Buick engine from this kit in a 34 Ford truck. 1
espo Posted September 9, 2023 Posted September 9, 2023 I agree with the '40 being one of the better Ford designs from the past. The classic black paint with the red wheels and interior appointments looks great. 1
karbuildr Posted September 9, 2023 Posted September 9, 2023 Looks great and as others have said, it's nice to see one built factory stock. Nice paint, gotta love wide whitewalls and red wheels. 1
Yeah Nah Posted September 9, 2023 Author Posted September 9, 2023 (edited) Thanks everyone for looking in and taking the time for posting kind comments. I have another example in the stash - the Original Art issue from a while back that will definitely be getting the gasser treatment! Edited September 9, 2023 by Yeah Nah
Flatout Posted September 10, 2023 Posted September 10, 2023 Stock or Hot Rod, 40 Fords are cool…nice job on an old classic kit? 1
Rattlecan Dan Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 Classic looking 40. Fine build. Nice engine detail as well. 1
