BlackSheep214 Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 Best 5 builds? No such thing... All my builds are the best. LOL!
JollySipper Posted September 14, 2023 Author Posted September 14, 2023 You mean, you actually build? I don't think I've seen any of your models.......
jaymcminn Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 I'll play. 5: 1/24 Hasegawa Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa. 4: Revell Datsun 510 BRE. 3: Trumpeter 1/12 Ford GT40. 2: 1/12 Italeri Fiat "Mefistofele". 1: 1/12 Italeri Bugatti 35b. 3

Stunning builds man. I didn't know the Testa Rossa kit existed. Is it older?

The Hase Testa Rossa came out in the early 2000's if I remember correctly. It's an absolutely beautiful kit. They're on eBay pretty frequently but they tend to go for silly money now. This one has KA Models photoetched parts and Hasegawa's own PE/plastic wheels.

Jason, I must say that you are generally very quiet on here, but every one of the builds you post knocks my socks off. I hope you have a disaster plan in place to save them if a hurricane / tornado / sharknado threatens your part of Floriduh.
espo Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 Best Builds can be a little subjective so here are a few of my favorites. 5
Koellefornia Kid Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 Oh man, choosing a Top 5 is like saying you like one of your kids more than the others.... But I picked five builds that (imo) turned out quiet nice. In no particular order: ‘72 Blazer, lots of fun creating a custom interior and a custom paint job: '30 Ford Model A Coupe de Cab. The original 1:1 car once was the property of one of my childhood heroes, professional skateboarder Steve Caballero. Just had to build it in scale: '78 AMC Pacer kit bashed with a '06 Camaro. Actually turned out cooler than I envisioned it: '68 El Camino. Probably my cleanest paint finish and best engine: '48 Custom Cadillac. Modified to resemble Boyd Coddington's Eldorod from 1998: But I do love my other builds, too... 5
Tom Geiger Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 (edited) Here ya go! My top five... at least for this week! Edited September 17, 2023 by Tom Geiger 5

stitchdup Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 Karmann Ghia with suburu engine 1972 Nissan Skyline on a calibra dtm chassis with twin turbos and all the cooling and 4x4 1951 VW Hebmuller mild custom with working front suspension Datsun Cedric Lowrider with ott one line painted roof Chevy Impala Lowrider, everything opens except the doors and the paint is almost impossible to get a decent pic of as i used reflective paint for the silver and golds under the candy. a little of the effect can be seen on the sides but it glows in person 4

I've lived in my house for 22 years now and it's come through direct hits from three major hurricanes (Wilma, Irma and Ian) with flying colors. It's built tough and I'm on "high ground" about 8 miles inland. When Ian hit Naples last year with 130+ mph winds I lost power for less than 24 hours with zero damage. I have native trees (live oak and cabbage palms) for landscaping and they handle heavy winds really well. The plan if I ever do have to evacuate would be to pack up the top 20 or so builds as if I were going to a contest and load them up in the car in big flat storage boxes. As for sharknadoes, not a lot you can do about those so sometimes you just have to roll the dice!
