NOBLNG Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 (edited) This is a nice little kit! I had fun adding a few little details to it. I detailed the engine bay some, modified the trailer hitch with some 1/8” square aluminum tube, added sunvisors to the windshield frame and opened the side windows a bit. There is a huge gap between the inner and outer tailgate panels that I really should have filled somehow.? Paint is Vallejo light blue. Edited September 18, 2023 by NOBLNG 10

Monty Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 Clean build, great attention to detail and nice paint. Add that to what seems to be a great kit, and you've got a winner. Would you mind telling me what exact paint you used for the engine (ex: Model Master #1614)? Looks exactly like the darker (corporate?) blue Ford was using then.
NOBLNG Posted September 19, 2023 Author Posted September 19, 2023 (edited) Thanks Monty! Edited September 19, 2023 by NOBLNG

Monty Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 As your bottle shows, that P/N was originally Ford Engine Blue, a shade I used on a Mustang engine I built in the early '80s. At some point, Testors modified it to a slightly lighter shade and called it Ford/GM engine blue. The Ford guys seemed alright with it, but I know it didn't match the blue of the engine in my '80 Corvette.
espo Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 Beautiful looking paint color and finish. Great attention to the trim and engine details.
Zippi Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 Pretty sharp looking little Bronco. That color combo is spot on man.
