JollySipper Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 Well, guys...... I guess I can call this finished! I don't envy you guys who were stuck building these old tool kits when they were new. This wasn't too bad, but it wasn't without it's troubles..... That's it guys...... Thanks for following the WIP! 7
Yeah Nah Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 Certainly not without it's build challenges, you've managed to get the absolute best out this great old kit. Love that colour too! 1
Kah puts Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Traditional vibe, and great colour = winner ? 1
customline Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 (edited) This is a kid's car who's family runs a body shop and it was a graduation present (1958). Nice work, TJ, that color looks a lot better than the last time I used it. Testor's is perfectly good paint when applied with love ?. (and micro-polished with tenacity and well developed skill). CONGRATS! Edited September 23, 2023 by customline

CONGRATS! Jim man! I really appreciate the nice comment...... I didn't use Testors paint though. It's actually DupliColor PM Pacific Green. It's a Ford color.

You remember, I was having some problems with the paint looking blue......

You remember, I was having some problems with the paint looking blue...... Oh, I remember that (I think). I love it if it really looks like it does on my Android tablet. ? it's got a really nice metallic overtone. What light are the photos taken in?
JollySipper Posted September 23, 2023 Author Posted September 23, 2023 It's lit with just a 6500K daylight compact-florescent bulb...... It's the light under my range hood. There's also a small LED lantern in the mix. I tried to use the lantern to cancel out some shadow.......
Modlbldr Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Beautiful build and a great color on it. I'd be proud of it! Later-
Zippi Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Love these old 36 Fords. Just picked one up off the ole interweb. Nicely done. Really like the color.
NOBLNG Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 She’s a real beauty TJ! It turned out GREAT!?

espo Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Great looking paint color and finish. Like the hub cap and wide whites look, especially the flat head engine.
JollySipper Posted September 23, 2023 Author Posted September 23, 2023 I managed to get some outside pics! 1
karbuildr Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Very nice traditional build. I liked the indoor photos and I like the outdoor photos even better. Beautiful color, I like the wide whites and the details. 1
XYHARRY Posted September 24, 2023 Posted September 24, 2023 Nice period cruiser. Well done TJ. Cheers, David. ??
ea0863 Posted September 24, 2023 Posted September 24, 2023 TJ, your beautiful build reminded me of two cars; the first my wife's 65 Impala when we first met - that gorgeous Tahitian Turquoise blue yours looks a lot like. And second, the cover car for Hot Rod Magazine April 1952. Well done!
Dan Hay Posted September 24, 2023 Posted September 24, 2023 (edited) Nice build! I just finished one as well. Love this kit! Edited September 24, 2023 by Dan Hay
JollySipper Posted September 24, 2023 Author Posted September 24, 2023 Thanks a bunch, guys! Now that I know how to work around this kit's issues, I might get another one day to build a chopped convertible.......
