Ever since I was a kid I was always fascinated by firetrucks and always wanted to become a fireman when

I grow up ...Well that didn't work out well .... I worked in  Ground Operations aviation at Malta airport and many

a time I used to drop by the Fire Section and say hello to my friends the firemen .

I built this model a Trumpeter kit in 1/25 scale as a tribute to these brave men who risk their lives frequently in their

line of work....

Detailed Interior with many parts built from scratch light included in the cabin ..fire hoses from football boots laces ....Operations console

extensively detailed .  Dechromed parts and repainted ...Finished in Gravity paints and lacquer .

That looks incredible!  Your attention to detail it top notch!  I would have been tempted to put those cab marker lights on with the high end facing front but I think LaFrance did mount them that way!  Well done!

Yeah!  That is a great piece of work.  Hope you continue to do some fire stuff.  It's a topic that is as wide as it is long.  Check out sewing elastic next time you have to do hose.  It comes in 1/8" and 1/4" widths and is much finer than shoelaces.  It can be stained to resemble the older style cotton jacket hose of the 70's and 80's and before.  Check out 3M yellow tape also for large diameter supply hoses.  The 3/4" size, if folded in thirds, looks pretty authentic.

Glad you did the interior on this model.  So disappointed that Trumpeter did not include detailed interior panels for the doors.  Would rather have had them instead of stainless steel hose bed dividers!  Your attention to detail on the frame and pump panels is great!  Thanks for sharing.

A beautiful build Louis!

Your use of washes and tinting on the metal parts is excellent as is the detail you've included. The cab lighting is a great addition that really helps to show the detail.

Fabulous!
