Hi all :)

As I took some gallery pictures last week, I also had the Benz Patent Motorwagen with me, so I can finally present you the final images of this beautiful kit. The WIP can be found here:

I hope you like the pictures even though they might be a little to temporary for this kind of car ?

Excellent model and superb photography! Looks like you have the model placed on a front-surface mirror, which is a nice effect. But how did you achieve the nice seamless neutral background and very even lighting?  Is there some Photoshop trick to it? Maybe you could take some photos of you photo setup and post them in the Tips and Techniques section? I would love to see what it looks like.

The model sits on a large piece of black glass (used to be a table board) and is lit by two studio flash lights, while another two flashlights illuminate the background.

The only thing I have to do in Photoshop is to brighten up the background to remove the visible edge where the glass ends, as can be seen here:

When I'm at the studio the next time I'll take some better pics of my setup and create a thread in the Tips and Techniques section :)

That is a clever photography setup, and a very nice model of such an unusual  subject.

For those who do not have the use of Photoshop perhaps a large sheet of reflective silver card that perhaps might be sought at an art supplier could be used to create a seamless curved background to give a similar effect.

Thanks Urs, that is (and will be) very informative.
I never thought of using black reflective surface, but it makes perfect sense with white backdrop illuminated by an umbrella light. You have some professional photographic equipment at your disposal.
