dino246gt Posted March 19 Posted March 19 I totally agree on those slimline bumpers and making all the chrome the same! Nice work on a fantastic car! I had the pleasure of riding in one, such a sweet sound from that 250 V-12. 1
Bugatti Fan Posted March 22 Posted March 22 Good progress Justin. Those 3D printed wheels really improve the appearance. I noticed the the rear wheels appear to be wider than the fronts. Unusual for a road car of that era. 1
Justin Porter Posted March 23 Author Posted March 23 Big step as the first color coat is now on! I'm using Cobra Motors Grigio Thalisse as the base color. 1
Justin Porter Posted March 23 Author Posted March 23 (edited) And as the second step with Cobra Motors Red Wine, the distinct red stripes as this build was inspired by Chassis #1183GT. Edited March 23 by Justin Porter 4
Justin Porter Posted March 25 Author Posted March 25 Cobra Motors 2K Clear is on and I am SERIOUSLY happy with how the body pops now that it has its shine. 3
Justin Porter Posted March 29 Author Posted March 29 Another mock-up now that wet sanding and polishing has been finished. The bumpers, grille, and side vents are test fitted here after being painted in Alclad Chrome and cleared with Aqua Gloss. 3
89AKurt Posted March 29 Posted March 29 I sure wish Fujimi would do sets of Ferrari Daytona tires, I already stole a set from one kit before. That's a sharp paint scheme! 1
beeRS Posted March 31 Posted March 31 This is looking fantastic. I love the paint! The bumpers look much better without the over-riders. 1
Badge73 Posted April 2 Posted April 2 I don't think the color of this build would have mattered, this thing would be beautiful in styrene white! lol Nice work! 1
Justin Porter Posted Monday at 05:47 PM Author Posted Monday at 05:47 PM Small but important update. The kit steering wheel was another situation where I felt that a highly-visible detail was just plain awful. I did some searching and found that this PE set by Highlight Model Studio fit the bill nicely. A little bit of work with nippers, knives, and bending tweezers later and I am happy to say a massive improvement was made. Also, luck of luck the kit decals actually cooperated too! 1
