I am building a 1995 Tamiya Ford Mustang Cobra R kit (1/24) and there are no masks for the window glass.
On previous kits without masks I’ve tried freehanding the black and it came out poorly.
How can I do this without making a mess of the glass? Advice needed.
Thanks for reading stay safe and enjoy!

P.S. I don’t have an airbrush.

Painting just from inside?

A black marker pen and brush paint with Revell Aqua.

Then use stretched sprue or toothpick to clean the edges along the mould line.

There’s another technique, but this applies more to Tamiya, and other Japanese kits. For kits with no window masks, and without buying aftermarket. This tip will help a lot as well.

Rather a lot of that around..."expert" advice, nothing to back it up.  :D

Some years back there was a guy making masks for NASCAR applications, a vinyl mask. The reviews were good. It could be a nice niche market for other applications.

Here's what I do most of the time: I take a thin strip of masking tape and run it around the edge of the black area just outside of the area I want to remain clear.  Once I've got it all the way around, I take a piece of wide masking tape and cover the entire surface and burnish it over the strip of tape I laid down.  I then use a sharp X-acto and go around the edge of the visible area carefully and peel off the area outside so it can be painted.  Then I mask off the outside and spray.  If it's too hard to get to do this way, I'll edge the visible area with a Sharpie and hand paint it, but it's less neat.

Thanks to stitchdup; D.Pack; Cool Hand; Date; Deathgoblin and bobss396 for taking the time to reply to my question. It is greatly appreciated.
The videos recommended by Cool Hand and Dpate were especially helpful. Thanks for making the extra effort on my behalf.
Deathgoblins explanation added to the videos.

I’ll give it a try and post photos here to show the level of success I had.

Thanks again to all who helped me out.
