Moebius 1/1 scale replica of HAL from the Iconic movie 2001 A Space Odyssey. Made a few changes, opened up all the holes in the speaker grille...that wuz allota fun and added a simple voice circuit. Also fabricated internal structures to support the electronics and contain the power supply.

Oh wow, I remember that movie - I think. Was stationed at Udorn RTAFB, Thailand.  We had an outdoor theater and this movie showed, there was a heavy, smokey haze hanging over the seats where I was sitting as well as some of Jos. Schlitz's finest product between my feet.  Still like the music from the movie.  Long time ago and lots of life changes in the process.

what does the voice circuit do?  is it interactive or it repeats certain phrases?  

I love asking Alexa to open the pod bay doors.  ?  It would be awesome if I could build one into this.

Mothersworry, this takes me back to the Terrace or Mai Kai theater on Plymouth rd. in Livonia, Mi to see this film. It was state of the art in 1968. A.I. that betrays you! Lots of sci fi that came true in real life!!!
