Roadrunner Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 So, while I’m waiting for some much needed supplies to arrive that will allow the continuation (and finishing) of two other projects, I decided to start cracking on this one. I just recently grabbed this at a local model car contest/swap meet, and had been wanting it for months.
Roadrunner Posted November 4, 2023 Author Posted November 4, 2023 Given that the other two cars are blue, I thought a change was in order. This car will be painted metallic green (Tamiya) as per one of these two versions. I’m not quite sure which one yet, but have plenty of time to figure that out. 3
Keef Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 Top spoon with white stripes and interior would look amazing! 2
Zippi Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 That's going to be a nice kit to build and I'm liking the green on the top spoon. 1
NOBLNG Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 I love these cars…and I agree, the darker green would look awesome.? 1
espo Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 Either color would look great. The B-4 spoon looks the closest to the factory color, Rally Green, I think it was, but I like the darker shade with the additional metallic myself. 1
Roadrunner Posted November 4, 2023 Author Posted November 4, 2023 Thanks, fellas. I'm leaning toward the darker green myself, so that's what I'll go with. 1
Pierre_tec Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 They are such a nice kits, fit like a dream! Did mine in Basf Lemans Blue 4
Nacho Z Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 Kevin, put me in the top spoon, dark green, camp! 1

Roadrunner Posted November 5, 2023 Author Posted November 5, 2023 In my opinion, you can't beat the stock 5-spoke wheels on this car, so that's what I'll be going with.
Roadrunner Posted November 5, 2023 Author Posted November 5, 2023 Chrome parts are really well done, and I'm very happy to see this. The front grill, after applying some washes, should look great, and I really like that the headlight buckets are chromed as well.
Keef Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 I have this one, as well as the 68 in my stash. I will be watching this one! ? 1

bluestringer Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 Looking good. I have one waiting, so I'll be watching. Top spoon green will look great. 1

Tamiya Racing White with an over coat of semi-gloss lacquer would look great in that role. I agree that either of those greens would look very sharp. 1
Roadrunner Posted November 7, 2023 Author Posted November 7, 2023 Thanks for all the inputs, fellas, I really appreciate the support.

Did mine in Basf Lemans Blue I see you didn't go for the wheel well trim on yours. I really don't blame you for that, it's extremely fine detail there. The rest of what you did looks wonderful though. Edited November 7, 2023 by Roadrunner
Metalmad Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 Kevin, MCW does have the correct GM green paint for the 69 SS which then it would have to be airbrushed. 1
Trendsetta68 Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 Love this so far ..... and love those '68 and '69 Revell Kits ! ??

My bmf didn’t like the polished body, since doesn’t wanted to stick, I don’t put it 1
