6bblbird Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 Not sure if I ever posted this car here. Lost the photos for a long time do to the hosting site shutting down. I recently found that I had the pics on an old phone and I recovered them.? I always loved this car. It was the only road runner Funny Car that I know of. It was certainly not very aerodynamic but it did hold the NHRA speed record for a time in 1969. I tried to use a resin body at first but it just didn't look quite right. The johan body was perfect. Tin and chassis are from the parts box. I was ecstatic to get the photos back but I just realized that I don't know where the actual model is. Gotta be packed away somewhere. Too many moves in a short period of time. WF 8
6bblbird Posted November 10, 2023 Author Posted November 10, 2023 Pretty sure that Fred Goeske's car was an influence on my future choice for my 1:1 race car! 4
echo Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 Nice replica, good stance & good detailing make it an attractive model. Excellent job.

Thanks. No, I recently finished a total restoration on the car and sold it (my retirement money). It turned out to be a pretty good long term investment Edited November 11, 2023 by 6bblbird
Scott8950 Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 The model looks great and the 1:1 is absolutely beautiful.
Bainford Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 Nice replica. I always thought this was a cool funny car, too. A supercharged brick.
