Just recently started working on some resin stuff and, being cognizant of the risk of the dust involved sanding etc., was wondering if anyone had any experience with the nail dust collector shown or any other type of dust reducer/vacuum?

just put some of the missus tights over the end of a vacuum but your probably better to just work on it wet. it will keep the dust down much better. i expect for those to work you would need to be right next it and it wont be very big either. or if you have a paint booth use it with some old filter material to save the good filters. it should catch most of the dust

been working with resin for many years and dont use nothing like that or any type of vacuum system. all i ever use is a regular old dust mask..

I usually wander outside if I have to really make a mess sanding something. I find that a cold "snack" or two helps keep the dust down.

Ron you are not wrong with watching out for resin dust. I think the box would be a pain to work around.

If feel the dust collector would work better. It looks to be a fan with a filter in front of it. Better than a nothing.

If you are handy with wood, you could make something similar to what we have at work. Our benches that we bench molds on have holes in the top that is connected to a dust collector. The dust goes through the holes and out through a tube. Small parts would cause a problem as they might fall it the holes. But for 30 bucks I would try the one you posted.

Thanks for your reply.  My goal is to cut down on dust in this room as it also contains my spray booth.  Found this on a recent “dig” in this forum that looks interesting.
