Tumbler75 Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 (edited) Finally! A first for 2009 for me! This one is the Revell/Monogram 1994 Chevy Impala SS I call Champala. I wanted a car that had the look of someone with a Champagne Taste but on a nice subtle beer budget. The car is painted Cayenne Red Exterior and Ghost/Medium Grey Tu-Tone Interior w/ black accents. Wheels are modded, li'l touches here and there, along with lowering the car a scale 2 inches to an Impala's correct ride height. Enjoy! Dragon7665 Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 (edited) Coming from a Longtime '91-96 B-Body Lover, and an owner of a '96 Caprice since '03, I must say Very Nicely Done Bro Best thing about the '94-96 Impala's, was that they could be had on a Beer Budget, but they could easily Beat the Snot alot out of those who could afford the Champange Lifestyle ***Edit*** Btw, all of Revell's Bubble Bodies have problems with the Headlamp Assemlies sitting correctly, and the easiest way to fix the problem is by trimming the Locator Pins, and Glue Mounting them to sit flush against the edge of the Front Bumper Cover.... The piece of the Bumper Cover it should be resting against, is actually a Rubber Filler Piece(Typically Black, but can be painted body color when the Owner decides to color match, or the Painter didn't mask them off properly), that fills the gaps between the Bumper Cover, and Lamp Assemblies... Tumbler75 Posted March 11, 2009 Author Posted March 11, 2009 Thanx man for the advice. I thought they had a rubber filler. Next B Body I build I'll take your advice on the headlights. I think the next one I build will be a Impala to Caprice - Ex Police Car conversion. Thanx for the comments.
Tumbler75 Posted March 31, 2010 Author Posted March 31, 2010 Nothin' like a big ole Boulavard Cruiser on a Saturday night.
jedimastergary Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Nice work lots of good detail on this one and the color is great
Tumbler75 Posted April 1, 2010 Author Posted April 1, 2010 Thanx for the comments. The interior floor, parcel shelf, and door panel accents are done with a Doll House Carpet and it works great! It's thin enough to conform anyway you need it to and adhesive backed for self sticking. It's also very low pile so it looks realistic for auto carpet. A friend of mine from England sent me a few pieces in several colours and I'm lookin' here in the states for more and more colours.
