DZ7581 Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 So a fallguy movie coming this spring. Does round 2 release the mpc fallguy truck to tie in merchandise? Seems to me they released the A team van around that movie, same with the dukes of hazzard.
Tabbysdaddy Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 That's the Deserter kit. Probably still on Hobby Lobby shelves. It isn't accurate either, the Fall Guy truck was a longbed. But an issue with the decals would get me to buy another.
av405 Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 I'm going to be selfish in saying that I really hope not. It seems that with the re-issue of the Sod Buster kit, Round 2 is attempting to refresh and make much-needed changes to this line of trucks. I'd rather Round 2 issue a truck without the Fall Guy storage box engraving on the box than do another re-release of it. 1

IIRC the folks at Round-2 wanted to re-release the A-Team Van when the movie was released, but didn't due to exorbitant licensing fees. Anyone's guess how greedy the Tinseltown movie licensors will be this time, and if it's worth the effort on Round 2's part.
Can-Con Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 Have only seen a quick shot of the new movie truck. Can't tell how close to the original it is. One thing I know is the current kit has the wrong grille for the FG truck. It has the "Hardcastle & McCormick" grille. FG grille was the '81/'82 grille current grille is the '83/'84 grille. I haven't seen a shot of the front of the new truck so it could be either one. Also haven't been able to get a good look at the box so it might not have the front "storage box " doors. Personally, I'd rather see a '72/'73 2 wheel drive first. 1

It does have some nice custom van parts and the “newer” 80s grille.

The Racing Champions release was interesting, the GMC grille/bumper was chromed, just needed some stock wheels IIRC, tho the original amt wheels were included too, as was the original Chevy grille. Along the way when Round2 took possession of the tooling the Kats backdated the tool back to post-opening-hood early '70's Chevy Van. Edited November 25, 2023 by Luc Janssens
