T-Ray Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 So.. I went to a flea market about a month ago and came home with a '90 Thunderbird SC that some kid had started long ago and lost gas on. With that, everything (besides a headlight lens) was present and usable except for the rear glass. The kid who started the kit had split the rear glass right down the middle. With that, I really don't want to buy another rear window piece as the piece would end up costing almost as much as what I paid for the kit. One thing that I have been trying to work out is if I could make a window out of a soda bottle as the car doesn't have that much of a curve to the back glass. However, I want other opinions, what do you think?
MrMiles Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 i tried all sorts of things on glass before. nothing looked perfect. i guess it depends on how much you can live with hobby lobby sells clear plastic sheets of styrene
TarheelRick Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 Wonder if this would work to make a 1:1 replacement for my 1:1 Pinto? Replacements are impossible to find.

Replacements are impossible to find. Probably, if you could find someone with large enough vacu-forming machine. Probably use 1/8" Lexan.

Replacements are impossible to find. I made a rear-hatch window from clear acrylic sheet (plexiglass) for a little gen-1 Fiesta I rescued from a crackhead who only wanted its $50 scrap value. All it needed to be a daily driver (besides the window he'd smashed because it wouldn't run) was a fuel pump.
