USA-1 Monster truck

Recommended Posts

I wanted to do an old school body style USA-1 monster truck but could not figure out how to do the fender flares. Shower rings, clear plastic shower rings. I cut them to fit the height I wanted and then dremeled to fit the body contour. Still need to round out the bottoms but this is what we got so far.

Next will be fitting it up to do the body raise with it leaving the firewall, floorboard and seats on the frame.

Now that will be a chore. Great idea with the fender flares.

Fitting with the body.

I used a bumper to prop the body to give an idea of the raised look. Haven’t figured out how I’m going to hinge the body.

I cleaned it up a little, added the radiator and mocking up the body.

I know the grilles not right but I like it better the stock plus it’s the closest I’m going to get to a billet grille.

Finished interior mounted to the frame.IMG_0241.thumb.jpeg.e531bce26ae3f93bd8374a3c1047e6f4.jpegIMG_0243.thumb.jpeg.21d4f50116a1039e9e7013275e43949c.jpeg

I’m using the front wheel mounts from the donor kit to make the body raising pins. I found some body pins from an old r/c to clip to the pins. IMG_0245.thumb.jpeg.4e870e8b159fee5b065ef5144ab1d8bf.jpegIMG_0256.thumb.jpeg.dac91571b602ea0416e99f6cae8012c5.jpegIMG_0255.thumb.jpeg.3384e8f017b603b3fba7e1d3a0681624.jpeg

Don’t know if I want to glue the clips to the body or leave them loose.
Body set and raised. I think it’s going to work out pretty good. IMG_0252.thumb.jpeg.a4e145e2fbfed1b09e8f300c138f140e.jpegIMG_0251.thumb.jpeg.4033cd976130495d0d347932c91aa563.jpegIMG_0257.thumb.jpeg.306f012f30e1f15e84ab6b39eab0d012.jpeg
