Safire6
It's not likely any of you are building a stock Triumph TR7 or TR8 but if you are, here is my original 14K mile TR7 for reference. Only the wheels are non-stock of course.

Bugatti Fan
Very nice car. Looks like it was painted in BL Pageant Blue like a Dolomite I used to own way back. A real stand out colour. The TR7 was designed with rubber bumpers being an integral part of the design as it was sold first in the USA long before going into UK showrooms. The poor old MGB had its looks completely ruined by having to have rubber bumpers fitted and the ride height altered to comply with USA regulations that were brought in at the time. peteski
Nice ride! Monogram made 1:24 scale TR8 kit. I have one still in shrink-wrap, but I heard the kit is not very good, so it might stay wrapped.

Actually it is BL Tahiti Blue. A friend of mine has a Dolomite but it's a drab gray color. As you likely know, the TR7 was designed as a FHC (fixed head coupe) because BL expected that the US was going to "outlaw" convertibles. It wasn't available as a DHC (drop head coupe or "convertible" until 3 years or so after it was introduced. And I agree, the chrome bumper MGBs look a lot better than the rubber bumper cars. Mine had a vinyl top, I sanded off the "vinyl texture" to make it a hard top.
Bugatti Fan
BL Tahiti Blue. A nice colour for your TR7, and now that I have looked at the pictures of your car again on a bigger PC screen I can see that it is a bit darker than the BL Pageant Blue of my old Dolomite. Will have to look and see if Pageant Blue was ever used on the TR7 out of interest. I quite like the wedge shape of this car and the convertible versions quite suit the body styling too. You have made a nice job of your model from the Monogram kit. I have a feeling that Revell also did a TR7 in 1/25th scale as Purdey's car from the Avengers TV series. peteski
That model looks very nice Steve, and so does your 1:1 car (which you can actually drive around without having to make vroom-vroom noises).
Bainford
Very nice TR7, Steve. Looks very well preserved.

The Triumph Wedge Owners Association (TWOA) shows photos of TR7s and 8s on their website in all the colors they were available over the years. They do show a Pagent Blue TR7... However Pagent Blue is not shown as being available for the TR7 in any of the old Triumph "Paint and Trim Colours" brochures they have on the website. It is shown as being available for the Dolomite and Spitfire though of course.

TransAmMike
Very nice job Steve on what I always thought was an unusual looking body style. Cool tho😀
Bugatti Fan
Thanks for coming back that Pageant Blue was not a standard TR7 colour. I had a Dolomite in that colour. Same sort of era so presumed erroneously that TR7's were available in Pageant Blue. It is quite a striking blue for a plain colour. My old Dolomite looked good in it.
