Mercedes-Benz 190E Evo II (Fujimi 1/24 scale)

Hi there,

this was a "quick fun build" inbetween rather exhausting F1 projects.

Long story short, the kit is a rather strange mix between the road version (that the boxart is depicting) and the DTM race version. 

The interior is flawed, again, with a funny mix of race and road car parts. Therefore I painted it black and focussed on getting the exterior looks right.

The kit contained the 5 spoke road car wheels with slicks (!) but I opted to use a set of BBS RS LM 18 inch wheels with road tyres anyway. It took some effort to get the stance right, but I think it worked out in the end.

I used aluminium ferrules for the exhaust pipes.  BMF was used on the front grille. 

Although all 502 cars were painted in blue black, I chose to paint mine in "brilliant silver" instead. Tamiya TS-17 and 1K clear have been used to that purpose.

Looks good in silver. Brings out the body mods better than the blue/black IMHO. Nice job stretching BMF over the contours of that grille too.
