happy grumpy Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 Never been a big fan of the malaise era. But the 85-88 line of corvette, firebird, Buick GN, 442 and Monte Carlo were the exception. OOB My only grippe about these, the tires, I should have flatten them to reduce the 100 PSI look like they're ready to explode. Fun to build and the decals went on really smoothly , they react well with setting solution. I went for a box art look. Tamiya Pure White and TS13. Nothing fancy but it looks right at home alongside the 442 and Black GN. As always , Thanks for looking and Happy holidays to all! ? 10
espo Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 Great looking paint finish and the factory stripes look good. Just so happens we ordered a new '86 Monte Carlo SS in this same color combination. Like how you detailed the wheels. 1
ncbuckeye67 Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 Very nice! I share your feelings about these G-bodies. 1
DoctorLarry Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 Looks just like a real one. Are my eyes deceiving me or are there two black dots on the driver's rear quarter panel? Maybe on the camera? 1
Yeah Nah Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 Like yourself I'm not a big fan of this era either but you've done a super job on this Mario. 1
Zippi Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 Well, that looks pretty sharp there Mario. Nicely done. 1
bluestringer Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 Beautiful Monte Carlo Mario. Excellent work. 1
ismaelg Posted December 24, 2023 Posted December 24, 2023 Great looking Monte Carlo from a tough era. By this time the whole industry was starting to go in the right direction, but the foreign car makers had already run away with the pie and ate it too. 1
1991MN12 Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 This is how I want to model one day!! Great build, car looks excellent! 1
Steve H Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 I really liked this body style, and still do actually. One of the gems from that era for sure. Another crisp, clean and well photographed model Mario. Looks fantastic. Cheers, Steve 1
70 Sting Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 100 psi look ?… wouldn’t have noticed if you hadn’t pointed it out. Looks great in my book! Photography is on par again. 1
1959scudetto Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 Well done, Mario - looks great in that color. Nice photography too, as always ! 1
