Just what I need... I bought this modified stocker '65 complete Fairlane body on eBay a while ago. Closed up the rear wheel wells a bit.

Donor chassis is from a Monogram 'Cup car. Engine, not too sure, it was bought loose at a show.

I virtually did little to the kit chassis, almost right out of the box. This will be put aside until after Xmas.

Looking good. I have also begun closing the wheel opening on my 65 for a similar project. I'll be watching

I used 2 pieces of .030 x .188 Evergreen stock and a piece of .020 x .188 to close it up more. I used Tamiya liquid glue and finished it off with thin CA glue, let it set up overnight. Then got out the sanding sticks... it took only a minor amount of spot putty to fix up some low areas. I have to get back into this soon. I'm close to doing the final cage and chassis assembly.

Some earlier shots of the build. I always make up location blocks for pinning the body to the chassis, so it goes back together the same way. You can see how I closed up the wheel wells.

I did it very similar on mine. Going a different rout using the Modified GTO chassis

I dug it out again. I have to find some lost parts that may be in another build box.

Distributor is wired. Took the chrome off the bumpers and added bars to them. Made up aluminum light covers and rear spoiler.

Radiator is done. Made side tanks from styrene. Inlet and outlets are 3/32" aluminum tube.

More progress. Going back and forth with the '56 Ford figure 8 car.

Wheels and tires are Ron Coon supplied. The kit hood recesses are filled in. Some of the interior is complete.

Great job so far. I'm kinda partial to these old Fords, my first car was a 65 Fairlane with a 289. Fun car until I wrecked it. Anyway, nice build, great details, I'm watching for sure.

More accomplished this week. Got the bumpers painted with TS-42 light gunmetal. Made aluminum headlight covers. Exhaust is roughed out. Fuel filler is a printed Ron Coon item.

Engine is installed. Cage is still loose but fits easily.

Running into little snags here and there. But working them out.

I had a resin hood scoop around and the carb stuck up quite a bit. Why not use it?

Also got pieces in place to locate hood pins.

I'm trying to focus on just 3 builds... see how long that lasts.

That is one great looking Fairlane. I grabbed a Fairlane body and Monogram T-bird chassis out of my stash today. It's like they were meant to go together.

Thanks. I still am not liking the small diameter tires, I may try something else that fills the wheel wells a little more.
