This was a kit I picked up on Clearance at Wal-Mart. There was some user error for sure on the assembly of the rear end and front bumpers. After assembly I found that the body was warped, or I completely hooped something. I also had a time and a half with the decals. Once again, probably me not the kit.

Overall I am actually very pleased with the build. I have always loved this Camaro with the round taillights. This kit was yet another testing subject where I was going to give Rustoleum paint a go as my top coat. I picked up this paint as a cheap engine color to use on various builds that require orange blocks. The body was molded in orange so I sent it and sprayed right on the plastic, no primer light prep. I am surprised how well it turned out with no polishing or clears.

The engine and engine bay in this car shocked me in how decent it worked out. I learned a ton on this kit and if given the opportunity I would build another.

For a car I had zero expectation for and a build that went sideways numerous times I am actually liking this car.

You can touch up those chips and cracks in the decals with a black Sharpie, and they won't be as noticeable.

Yeah I need to take out the Sharpie for a few things...Thanks for the tip!

Man that looks amazing! I'm currently building that kit with a friend. I'm having a lot of trouble with the body as well. Hopefully mine turns out as good as yours!

Thanks for the kind words!!! I'm sure your kit will turn out just fine. My biggest flaw was not following the instructions and then needing to re construct everything lol! Can't wait to see your completed build. You can do it!

Nice work Sam. I recently bought this kit myself and though not built yet, it seems a pretty decent and detailed kit at least in the box.

Thanks! If I can remember I'll show pics of it when it's done.

Looks pretty sharp Sam !  Always liked the '70 1/2 body style .  I know a guy that never uses primer . . .  the smooth surface of the plastic results in a much better paint finish than spraying over grainy primer . That's why primer should always be sanded before paint .

Thanks. Id say it was really detailed and honestly not bad at all.

Nice build. Hope you aren't offended if I tell you the chipped stripes and soft rear shocks give it a real 70 look.

Not offended one bit! Making a model look like it was on the road for a few years in its day is so cool. I guess I was on to something ! Thanks for the post!!!

Yeah all the greats say to have the primer smooth, I see why now! I'm going to mess around with this more with Tamiya cans as it's not as "hot". Thanks for the kind words!

These kits are not for the faint of heart, but it looks like you whupped this one into some good shape Sam.

Thanks for the kind words! I was on a wing and prayer and it worked out. Hopefully I can keep this up!
