ewetwo Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 This is sort of a tribute to my Great Uncle and his 1964 Plymouth. That was about this shade of blue. Black rubber floor. Only option was automatic transmission. Two tone seat covers. His Plymouth was a slant 6 with over 300,000 miles when it was finally junked due to rust. 1978 was about when the Plymouth was let go. So if he was looking for another "new" Chrysler product. I figure this would have fit the bill. Instead he opted for a used Ford LTD. 8
Yeah Nah Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 Nice! I have a couple of these- both of them Batman movie subjects. When I do build them one definitely will be the Gotham Police cruiser.
karbuildr Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 Very nice Monaco. I like the blue color and very neat and clean build.
slusher Posted January 11, 2024 Posted January 11, 2024 Looks great David, I have been wanting to build a slant 6 Charger buddy..
Ulf Posted January 11, 2024 Posted January 11, 2024 Nice build. I, like you, always have someone in mind when building, in short someone's car, how and what it would have chosen and maintained.
Zippi Posted January 11, 2024 Posted January 11, 2024 Nice clean looking 78 Dodge Monaco. Great looking paint and I like the color matched wheels.
ewetwo Posted January 11, 2024 Author Posted January 11, 2024 Thank you Garry, James, David, Larry, Carl, Louis, Chris, Hanjo, Jeff, Ulf, and Bob. This is the Batman Goon car. It's not the best kit. I tried to correct the wheel base but didn't. The front wheels were to far forward and the wheels stuck out past the fenders. The interior tub has issues. And the glass didn't fit well plus the front and back glass had scratches which happened before they were sealed at the factory. I buffed them out the best I could.
ModelcarJR Posted January 11, 2024 Posted January 11, 2024 Looks good, David! I built this one not long ago and agree with your issues. That said, it looks good as a standard Dodge of the era. Nice work! ??
1991MN12 Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 Hey I really like this build! Great job it looks great!
